TEXARKANA — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats were dealt another blemish to their record Tuesday following a 10-0 shutout loss to the Pleasant Grove Hawks. Throughout the game, the Hawks outplayed the Wildcats at every opportunity and never gave them a chance, leading to a shutout.

MILLER GROVE — The District 23/24-1A Area track and field meet was recently held at Miller Grove High School. Three Hopkins County schools — Miller Grove, Saltillo, and Sulphur Bluff — would all represent their school well, winning multiple medals.

BIRTHRIGHT — The North Hopkins Panthers won their fifth consecutive game Tuesday following a dominant 16-2 victory over the Yantis Owls. The game’s outcome would be decided early on, as the Panthers lit up the scoreboard early and kept the Owls off balance, leading to a blowout win.

SULPHUR BLUFF — The Saltillo Lady Lions clinched the District 17-1A championship Monday following an 18-3 road win against their heated rival, the Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears. After a close first inning, the Lady Lions turned up the heat in the second inning and never looked back, leading to the win.

FRUITVALE — The Miller Grove Hornets pulled off a resounding comeback victory Tuesday, outlasting the Fruitvale Bobcats 26-13 on the road. After trailing for the majority of the game, the Hornets mounted a comeback in the final inning, completing a huge comeback.

COMO — The No. 3 Como-Pickton Lady Eagles clinched their fourth consecutive district champioship Monday by taking down the Fruitvale Lady Bobcats 10-3 at home. Throughout the game, the Lady Eagles outplayed the Lady Bobcats and never gave them a chance, leading to the win.

COMMERCE — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers broke their twogame losing streak Tuesday by defeating the Wolfe City Lady Wolves 10-3 at Commerce High School. An early strong start and strong defense proved to be enough for the Lady Panthers, as they swept the Lady Wolves for the season.
