TEXARKANA — The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats locked up their sixth consecutive district championship Friday following a 10-0 shut out against the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks. For the entire game, the Lady Wildcats outplayed the Lady Hawks at every opportunity, cruising to a victory.

COMO — The Como-Pickton Eagles dropped their fourth game in a row Friday after a 14-2 loss to the Alba-Golden Panthers. For the entire game, the Eagles were outplayed at every opportunity and could never establish any rhythm, leading to a blowout loss.

NH loses to Celeste

COMMERCE — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers suffered their second consecutive loss Friday following an 8-4 defeat against the Celeste Lady Blue Devils. Despite leading for much of the game, the Lady Panthers couldn’t close the game in the end, leading to a bitter loss.

Three schools partake in Area track meet

COOPER — The District 15/16-2A track and field meet was recently held at Cooper High School. The three Hopkins County schools in the Area round — Como-Pickton, Cumby, and North Hopkins — would all have success at the meet.

MERIT — The Cumby Lady Trojans lost their 10th consecutive game Friday following a crushing 9-7 defeat at the hands of the Bland Lady Tigers. Though they tried to rally back from an early deficit, their comeback attempt fell short, as the Lady Trojans’ struggles continued.

MOUNT VERNON — The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears suffered another blemish to their record Friday following a 10-1 loss to the Mount Vernon Lady Tigers JV team. Despite a strong start, the Lady Bears gave up 10 unanswered runs, leading to the loss.

Panthers earn road win over Cumby, 11-6

CUMBY — The North Hopkins Panthers won their fourth straight game Friday after defeating the Cumby Trojans 11-6 on the road. Over the course of the game, the Panthers played well and never let their guard down, leading to the win.
