Sulphur Springs Church of the Nazarene, 1300 South League St., 27th annual Truckload Plant Sale has been postponed. The church will announce on its Facebook page when the event is rescheduled. This is a fundraiser for the church’s youth group.

The Sulphur Springs Public Library is closed as of Tuesday. The Hopkins County Genealogical Society library will remain closed until further notice. This closure includes cancellation of the Thursday, March 19 monthly meeting with speaker Matt White, as well as next week’s “Lunch & Learn,” featuring Boo Maxwell Marshall on Wednesday, March 25.

The Hopkins County Genealogical Society is closed March 16-21 as a precautionary measure. The closure will be re-evaluated at the end of the week to determine additional action. The monthly meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 19 is also postponed; the date will be announced at a later time. The society encourages members to research from home.

The Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center, 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, will host CHRISTUS Health Plan Generations for a Medicare 101 event at 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 20. Jesse Skinner will present the basics of Medicare, hospital and medial coverage included in Medicare Parts A and B, and answer questions.
