Hunt, LeCroy score runs

COMO — The Como-Pickton Eagles dropped their fourth game in a row Friday after a 14-2 loss to the Alba-Golden Panthers. For the entire game, the Eagles were outplayed at every opportunity and could never establish any rhythm, leading to a blowout loss.

The Panthers would get on the board first in the first inning, scoring five runs and establishing a 5-0 lead.

Alba-Golden scored again in the top of the second inning with another run, extending their lead to 6-0. The Eagles would then get on the board in the bottom of the second inning when Payton Hunt scored a run, trimming the score to 6-1.

The Eagles would score again in the third inning when Tucker LeCroy scored a run, bringing the score to 6-2. The Panthers would respond with three runs in the fourth inning, extending their lead to 9-2.

The Panthers added five more runs in the top of the fifth inning, raising their lead to 14-2. After the Eagles were held scoreless in the bottom of the fifth inning, the game came to an end, as the Eagles suffered a 14-2 loss.

As a team, the Eagles just 3 for 17 (.176) from the plate. Adrian Chambly, Kevin Hernandez, and Kobie Wright all recorded one hit each. Hunt and LeCroy scored one run each.

Dane Oud suffered the loss on the mound. In only 2/3 of an inning, he conceded five runs (four earned), five walks, and two hits.

Hunt then pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing four hits, four earned runs, and four walks. Hernandez pitched the final inning, surrendering five walks, five earned runs, and two hits, managing one strikeout.

With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 4-2 in district and 9-11-1 overall. They will be back in action Wednesday, when they welcome the Sulphur Bluff Bears to War Eagle Field.
