Cumby Collegiate ISD Board of Trustees name new elementary principal

Donna Yarbrough, Cumby Collegiate ISD’s current special education coordinator, was named as the new elementary school principal during Thursday's regular school board meeting. The trustees unanimously approved the recommendation of Superintendent Shelly Slaughter.

Spring clean up days for City, County scheduled soon

Sulphur Springs and Cumby residents will have two opportunities to get rid of household trash — provided it doesn't contain toxic materials and or specified prohibited items.

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that nominations for the 2024 Star of Texas Awards, which honor peace officers, firefighters, emergency medical first responders, and federal law enforcement who were seriously injured or killed in the line of duty, are now open. Nominations are due to the Office of the Governor by June 13, 2024.

„ The John Chester Dutch Oven Cooking Class will be conducted from 8 a.m. to noon April 20, at Hopkins County Historical Park. The class is targeted at teaching people how to cook in Dutch ovens.
