The John Chester Dutch Oven Cooking Class will be conducted from 8 a.m. to noon April 20, at Hopkins County Historical Park. The class is targeted at teaching people how to cook in Dutch ovens. Sulphur Springs Anual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up will be April 22-27. Sulphur Springs residents may bring large items to discard from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to the city collection site, ¼ mile east of Flowserve, on Jefferson Street. (Old US Highway 67).
Harmony Cemetery Association of Hopkins County Inc.’s annual business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 28, at 316 County Road 2397 in Winnsboro. A memorial service and dedication of the new Veterans’ Memorial will follow. The special speaker will be Col. Joel Newsom, retired. Folks are encouraged to bring a covered dish lunch to share under the pavilion at noon.
