If you've got large household items that need to be disposed of but don't fit in your trash can, you'll want to be sure to make note of the upcoming spring clean up dates for your area. Sulphur Springs and Cumby residents will have two opportunities to get rid of household trash — provided it doesn't contain toxic materials and or specified prohibited items.

This is a great opportunity to get rid of old or broken furniture such as metal and plastic chairs, washers, dryers, boxsprings and matresses, tree and other storm debris.

Those dropping off items will be asked to show a driver's license or water bill as proof of residence within the city of Sulphur Springs. No commercial trash and items will be accepted.

Items that will not be accepted include tires, hazardous waste, wet paint and anything containing refrigerant.

Cumby

The Cumby City Clean-Up will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27-28 and May 3-5 for city residents. In order to dispose of large items and large amount of household trash, residents must be able to provide City of Cumby utility bills or a current photo ID with a Cumby address.

No chemical, paint, car batteries, tires or any type of hazardous waste will be accepted. All items should be placed in dumpsters provided these days by the city water tower.
