Friday, April 12  

„ A scam was reported by a man in Brashear at 2:35 p.m.

Saturday, April 13

„ Police responded on North Davis Street to a complaint of an intoxicated person disturbing citizens. Upon arrival, they observed Daniel Jerome Cooper standing unsteadily. The 43-year-old also had glassy, watery eyes and had a strong alcoholic beverage smell emitting from him. The Sulphur Springs man too carried a 40-ounce beer container that was hall-full, and was verbally abusive toward people in the area, attempting to pick fights, police alleged in arrest reports. While being detained, the man began screaming profanity and racial slurs at police, officers alleged in arrest reports. Cooper was arrested on a public intoxication charge.

„ Hopkins County Sheriff ’s Office communications operators answered 399 non-emergency phone calls and 38 emergency calls. Deputies were dispatched to 85 calls for service, provided one funeral escort and made 31 phone calls during the 24-hour period beginning at 5:30 a.m. April 12. Four people were booked into and six were released from the county jail, which held 216 inmates at 5:30 a.m. April 13.

Sunday, April 14

„ Police responded to a complaint of theft at Walmart. Officers were shown video footage of Homero Rios-Osornio concealing consumable merchandise beneath items that had been purchased in a shopping cart, police alleged. The 37-year-old Leesburg man then passed all points of sale and tried to leave the store with the merchandise, before being detained by store personnel, police alleged in arrest reports. Rios-Osornio was arrested on a theft of property charge.

„ Officers contacted Pedro Luis Regalado at 10:10 p.m. on GIlmer Street. The 34-year-old reportedly had glassy, red bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Alcohol was smelled on him, police alleged in arrest reports. He admitted he'd consumed an alcoholic beverage and was arrested for public intoxication

„ Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was

reported on Wildcat Way.

Monday, April 15

„ Sulphur Springs Police Officer Edward Jaime contacted William Olan Kinard at 4:14 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs man’s residence. The 53-year-old was taken into custody on an aggravated assault with deadly weapon warrant. His bond was recommended to be set at $100,000 on the second-degree felony warrant.

„ Police responded to a call for service on Fuller Street, and contacted Aniyah Ala’Shae Taylor at 11:32 a.m. A records check showed the 18-year-old woman to be wanted on a criminal trespass charge. She was arrested on the Class B misdemeanor warrant.
