Aug. 26 marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s certification

The ratification and certification of the 19th Amendment marked an important milestones for the United States in its journey toward equity. Just before the 1920 presidential election, white women were granted the right to vote, but even before ratification, there were debates and discussion over the sensitive issue, even here in Hopkins County.
