Strain leads Phinesee Farms PBA Summer Classic

David Strain fired the high scratch series of Thursday night’s Phinesse Farms Winery PBA Summer Classic. Strain tallied a 613 set on scores of 212, 203, and 198.

Along with Evan Tinney’s 451 scratch series, the duo took all four available points to move their team, Winburn Milk into a tie for second place on the team leader board. Strain also catapulted up the singles standings into sixth place with a 176-individual average.

GT Tools took facilitated a four-point sweep of their opponents and, in doing so, took over the top spot in the team standings with a 7-1 record.

Shayne Wilson led the trio with a 570-scratch performance. Wilson posted scores of 207, 173 and

190. Jason Harp booked a 487 series with scores of 170, 131 and 186, while Dewayne Roach rolled a 431 on scores of 164, 145 and

122.

Alliance Document Shredding also took home four points as they improved to a 6-2 record. The squad also managed to move into a tie for second place.

Todd Koehler was the high man for the team with a 493 series. Koehler posted scores of 147, 158 and 188.

Jason Palaschak added a 492 series on scores of 165, 172 and 155. John Umbarger rolled a 411 set highlighted by a 163 score in game two.

Also tied for second place and taking home three points for the evening was the Phinesse Farms Winery team of Louis Lufkin, Lori Guffey and Jason Parmer.

Guffey had a stellar night rolling a 529 series. The set helped to move Lori into sole possession of first place in the Women’s singles standings. Lufkin rolled a 459 set compiled on scores of 151, 153 and 155. Parmer charted a 592-effort on a 196-195-201 block.

Guaranty Bank & Trust took home a three-point victory as the crew slid into a tie for third place in the team standings with a 5-3 record.

Larry Stovall was the high man for the trio rolling a 438 series on scores of 130, 169 and 139. Jeremy Folmar bowled a 428 series with scores of 110, 122 and a breakout score of 196 in game three. Marcus Folmar booked a 414 set on scores of 131, 146 and 137.

Advantage Copy Systems took home three points and are the second team tied for third place at a 5-3 record.

Mindy Skaggs rebounded nicely after a slow start to week one. Skaggs rolled a 384 series on scores of 131, 134 and 119.

Husband Joe Skaggs bowled a 404 set with scores of 131, 133 and

140. Mark Collins also showing life after a slow start to the season rolled a solid 506 series with his scores of 169, 169 and 168.

Triple D Lawn Service evened up their record at 4-4 by taking three points in week two.

Roger Honea Sr led the team with a 480-scratch series on scores of 190, 140 and 148.

Wife Tammy Honea bowled a 451 series on scores of 139, 160 and 152. Tammy’s scores helped improve her individual average to a 136, a twelve pin boost from week one.

Other notable bowlers included Justin Haggerty and his 568 set that included scores of 196 and

195. Haggerty helped the Hooten’s Hardware team take two points as he also moved into third place in the singles standings.

Tarry Davison aided the Brown Installations team snag one point on the heels of his 545-scratch performance. Davison produced scores of 165, 180 and 200.

Roger Honea Jr. fired a 516-scratch series boosting his individual average to a respectable 161, which also enabled him to crack the top ten in the singles standings at ninth place.

Christi Cimino continues to be one of the top female performers. Last week was no exception as she tossed a solid 508 series.

Cimino fired a lofty 216 score in game two with scores of 138 and 154 in games one and three.

Becky McCleskey started the night a bit slow but found her mojo in game two as she proceeded to roll a 424-scratch set. She rolled scores of 155 and 172 after a dismal 97 in game one.

Ryan Shugart posted a 515 series on scores of 188, 181 and 146.
