Hopkins County Genealogical Society’s annual joint meeting with the Hopkins County Historical was held in the chapel at Heritage Park. This year, the groups have been invited to meet in the new Winniford Building. Attendees are asked to park outside the north gate; the building is to the left upon entering.
Paula Altenbaumer will portray a historical figure from Hopkins County history. Her special guest will be Sue Connally, who will share her history and shed some light on the naming of Connally Street in Sulphur Springs. Light refreshments will be provided following the presentation.
The annual joint meeting has been held on the fourth Thursday of August in the past; however, circumstances require that this year’s meeting be held on the third Thursday this year.
The annual joint meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at Heritage Park, 416 Jacksons St. in Sulphur Springs.
