First Baby of 2021

Isabella Nessie Velasco was born to Marcella, 24, and Francisco, 27, Velasco of Sulphur Springs at 12:26 a.m. Jan. 1 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Isabella weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was one week early, and she has five other siblings ages 7, 6, 4, 2 and 1.

CORRECTION: In the print edition of the Jan. 6 News-Telegram, Marcella's age was incorrectly listed as 20. Her correct age is 24. The News-Telegram regrets the error.
