Listing to replace community calendar through crisis

Body

In light of Governor Abbott’s executive order last week, which prohibits social gatherings of 10 or more people, churches all over Hopkins County are still holding services—just in a different medium.

The Sulphur Springs News-Telegram has begun compiling a list of available church services with a means of alternative attendance. To add to the list, email news@ ssnewstelegram.com or call 903-885-8663.

Following is a list of what has been compiled so far:

Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 B.J. Teer said in a Facebook post Monday, “This morning as I scanned Facebook, I saw all churches having church online. Started to looking at how many people were live viewing each service. I realized that more people were at church this morning than most Sundays. I read a post from a pastor friend of mine who said last week was the first time he ever preached to a empty church, but before the week almost 48,000 people had viewed the sermon, and part of the sermon was to responded to the sermon. It was stated that almost 300 people responded that they had accepted our Lord and Savior.”
