ANNOUNCEMENTS

■ The Sulphur Springs Middle School Wildcat Threatre will present "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr." Tuesday, May 18 with doors opening at 7 p.m. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free.

■ A 55+ Health Fair will be held Tuesday, May 18 starting at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the ROC of the First Baptist Church. There will be 41 vendors set up, and a hot dog lunch will be held at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

■ The North Hopkins Cemetery Association will hold its annual Homecoming Sunday, May 30 in the cemetery chapel at 11 a.m. The meeting will not have a speaker but will have announcements and a musical program. Visitation will be after the meeting under the pavilion, and no lunch will be served. Donations can be accepted at the chapel or at the visitation.

■ The Mahoney Homecoming scheduled for June 13 has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Donations can be made to Mahoney Cemetery c/o Pinky Cooper, 3240 CR 3504, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.

■ The Black Oak Baptist Church Memorial Day scheduled for May 30 has been canceled and may be held at a later date.

ONGOING EVENTS

Saturday, May 15

■ One Soul Yoga will host Yoga On (Off) the Square every Saturday at 9 a.m. During the fall and winter months, classes will be held at One Soul Yoga studio on Main Street in Sulphur Springs. During the spring and summer months, classes will be held on Celebration Plaza, downtown Sulphur Springs. All skills levels are welcome. The class is free to anyone.

■ Better Life Group of Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at noon at Wesley United Methodist Church, 614 Texas St. Call Gary or Lillie at 903-473-3329.

■ Tai Ji Quan for seniors is offered every Monday and Thursday at 11 a.m. at the ROC, 115 Putman St. in Sulphur Springs, until the opening of the new Senior Activity Center on Oak Avenue. The class is free and taught by Karen Moseley. For more information, call 903-885-1661.

■ Boy Scout Troop 69 meets on Monday nights at 7 p.m. at the Scout hut behind First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs. Anyone interested please call 903-243-3995.

■ Free pool games are offered Mondays-Thursdays in The Canteen at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8560, located on Veterans Drive.

■ Recovery Group will meet every Monday at 7:30 p.m. at “The ROOOM,” located across the street from Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 211 Fuller St.

Tuesday, May 18

■ The Parkinson’s support group will hold a meeting for people interested in learning more about Parkinson’s Disease and how to cope with it at 11:30 a.m. every third Tuesday in the Sulphur Springs Senior Center at 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
