Special Crimes arrests man with alleged meth, Xanax

A 24-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on Tuesday night on four drug-related charges, according to police reports. 

Jackson Blaze Gilreath was arrested at 7:43 p.m. in the 1000 block of Carter Street during a special crimes unit investigation, according to police. 

SCU officers were attempting to serve warrants at Gilreath’s home for two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance when they allegedly observed Gilreath run from them and remove something from his pocket, according to a report. 

After catching up with Gilreath, officers observed where Gilreath had allegedly placed items and reportedly found a syringe and a black hide-a-key box, police reported. The box allegedly contained suspected methamphetamine and Xanax, according to police. 

Gilreath was booked in on outstanding warrants as well as additional charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than one gram and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. 

Gilreath remains in jail and is not bond eligible.
