Editor’s Note: Between the years of 2000 and 2020, 40 individuals vanished without a trace in Northeast Texas, never to be heard from again. During the month of December, the News-Telegram will highlight the circumstances of their disappearances in the hope that one of our readers may be able to help police or family find answers.

Chambers, Michael Glenn - Glenn was last seen March 10, 2017 after Michael’s wife arrived home at 6:15 p.m. in the 7000 block of FM 2101 in Quinlan, Hunt County, Texas to find their garage empty.

Becca Chambers said she had spoken to her husband at around 8 a.m. that day. A small amount of blood was located in the garage at the Chambers residence, but there were neither signs of a struggle nor that Chambers was forcibly taken from the building, Sheriff Randy Meeks told the Greenville Herald Banner.

The Hunt County Sheriff ’s Office also investigated theories that Chambers was injured and walked away from his home seeking help, but have not reached any conclusion. HCSO has also investigated theories of suicide. According to video surveillance, Chambers was alive and well at the Quinlan Wal-Mart at 11 a.m. that day, so police officials believe his disappearance occurred between noon and 3 p.m. that day.

Chambers retired from Dallas Fire and Rescue in 2008 and does not have any known medical or mental disabilities. His vehicles were all left at his home, according to the National Missing Persons Database (NAMUS).

In the time since his disappearance, numerous searches were conducted around the Chambers residence, and at nearby properties in Quinlan and at Lake Tawakoni by volunteers, cadaver dogs, drones and trained searchers, all with negative results, according to law enforcement. Chambers’ case has since been featured on the Investigation Discovery television program “Disappeared.”

Michael Glenn Chambers is 6’3” and weighs about 225 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair, but is balding. He often wears a Dallas Fire and Rescue tee shirt and hat. He was 70 at the time of his disappearance and would be 74 now. His friends and relatives call him PawPaw. A $25,000 reward is offered for information regarding his disappearance. Anyone with information should contact the Hunt County Sheriff ’s Office at 903-453-6809.

Darling, Melissa Ann McVay - Darling was last seen June 10, 2011 walking out of the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. at 1:35 a.m.

While visiting the casino, Darling was in the company of a white male companion, Jeremy Upchurch, of Lamar County. Upchurch continues to be a person of interest due to his criminal background, according to the National Missing Persons Database.

Her vehicle, a black 2010 Ford Sport Trac, was found abandoned near Hugo Lake, Okla. a few days later. It was locked and had two flat tires, according to law enforcement.

Properties in Oklahoma, Delta and Lamar counties were searched, but came up empty, reports stated.

The Sulphur Springs native, who would now be 43, is missed by her entire town. While the News-Telegram was compiling their missing persons series, many locals personally called the paper to inquire about the status of Darling’s case. She leaves behind two daughters, and many family members and friends.

Foul play is suspected in Darling’s disappearance. She has blonde hair and green eyes, and is 5’8” and approximately 190 pounds. She has several tattoos, including a dolphin on her back and a honeybee on her hip. Anyone with information should contact the Sulphur Springs Police Department at 903-885-3461.

Flint, Kimberly Carter - Flint was last seen Sept. 29, 2018. Flint’s car was found partially crashed and abandoned in the roadway of US 84 in an area colloquially known as Mud Creek on the Angelina River near the Reklaw community in Rusk County, Texas.

At 5:30 a.m., Flint’s husband left for work as he normally did at their home in Laneville. At 3 p.m., she spoke to him by phone, allegedly to ask if he could pick her up dinner on his way home from work, according to Dallas’s ABC News affiliate.

Not long after, she left the house in her 2016 black Jeep Grand Cherokee. Her purse, ID, as well as other possessions were left at her home, according to Kim’s son James.

“She knew that my dad was coming home within 45 minutes with her food,” James told ABC News Dallas. “Why would she just jump up, leaving everything?”

When Flint’s husband arrived home and couldn’t find her, he contacted the Rusk County Sheriff and his son. By 3:45 p.m. that evening, authorities had located Kim’s vehicle 84 miles away at US 84, on the bridge over a part of the Angelina River known as Mud Creek after a report by a passerby of a collision.

Deputies allegedly determined Flint’s vehicle was traveling at a speed of over 80 miles per hour when it collided with the bridge. Picture evidence of the wreck shows damage to the front and side panel of the Jeep. Law enforcement further determined the vehicle continued for about 300 yards until the front tire folded up and the car came to a stop. The airbag was not deployed, and there was no blood or other signs of injury, according to NAMUS.

At 4:30 p.m., Flint’s husband and son arrived at the scene.

“The vehicle was found still in the roadway partially crashed,” her son told the news media. “She just wasn’t there.”

Both sets of car keys, as well as Flint’s glasses, were found in the vehicle. Two searches for Flint, both immediately after the crash and 170 days later, turned up nothing. A witness believes he saw her speaking with someone in a white pickup truck, according to media reports. Kim’s case was featured on “The Vanished Podcast.”

Kim is 5’0” and 150 pounds with graying brown hair and hazel eyes. She was 55 when she disappeared and would be 57 now. She has pierced ears and wears glasses, although she may not have them with her. Anyone with information should contact the Rusk County Sheriff at 903-657- 3581.

Farrell, Justin Kyle - Farrell was last seen May 11, 2004 driving his pickup truck in Nacogdoches, Texas.

In March 2015, a subject walking his or her dog in a rural area near Cushing in Nacogdoches County, Texas, l o c a t e d skeletal remains of an unidentified male, according to a release.

In April 2015, they were identified as belonging to Farrell, according to a press release by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff.

However, much about Farrell’s death remains unsolved.

Farrell’s silver and black 1996 Dodge Ram has never been located, according to authorities. Although the initial press release by Nacogdoches county indicates that the scene of the crime indicated foul play, Farrell’s case is under investigation and has not yet been ruled a homicide, according to police.

Anyone with information should contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff at 936-560-7777.
