The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday

10:39 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a noise disturbance at a residence on County Road 4574. A man reported people were driving 4-wheelers on the road.

Saturday

12:22 a.m.: A man on County Road 2297 reported a suspicious vehicle. A blue or green SUV was blocking his driveway. Deputies were disregarded prior to arrival.

2:26 p.m.: A caller reported seeing two subjects jumping over the spillway guardrail on County Road 4759.

2:33 p.m.: A caller reported a reckless driver driving over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 30 west at mile marker 141 in Saltillo.

6:21 p.m.: Deputies conducted a welfare concern at a County Road 4754 after a woman reported her husband “freaked out during family dinner.”

7:43 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance or family violence at a residence on State Highway 19 south after a woman reported her husband was going to spank their 9-year-old child with a belt. The family didn’t want that, and the dispute became physical.

8:10 p.m.: Deputies investigated a report of suspicious activity at the Greenwood Cemetery in Pickton. A caller reported “a bunch of kids out.”

Sunday

4:14 a.m.: A woman reported she believed someone was trying to break into her neighbors’ residence.

10:54 a.m.: A caller reported a crowd of more than 10 people in close quarters holding services at a church in Seymore.

4:14 p.m.: A criminal trespass warning was issued at a property on County Road 1152 where people who were not supposed to be on the property were there attempting to get a smoker.

4:44 p.m.: A caller reported a man in a vest walking around on County Road looking normal, which the caller thought was suspicious.

6:47 p.m.: A noise disturbance was reported in the 200 block of Depot Street in Cumby. A caller reported the neighbors behind her house were too loud and she wanted them to quiet down. She called back again at 8:12 p.m. to say she felt the music was too loud as she could hear it inside her house. The woman called back at 8:37 p.m. to speak to an officer about the music still playing.

Monday

11:49 a.m.: A male caller inquired what age a teen was legally allowed to leave home.

12:24 p.m.: A woman reported people are using her address for their drivers licenses, and it is causing her difficulties with insurance.

2:59 p.m.: A man called to report that the boat stolen from him four weeks ago was currently at Walmart.

4:25 p.m.: A man reported a package he did not order was delivered to his residence on County Road 2310 and that the cost was $1,439.99.

5:57 p.m.: A criminal trespass warning was issued to a person on a County Road 2175 property.

6:02 p.m.: A man reported he went to a residence on County Road 2174 and his stepfather reportedly pulled a gun on him. The man called back at 7:15 p.m. to report his mother used his debit card for a $9,000 purchase.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 647 non-emergency calls, 186 calls for service and 141 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers filed four offenses and issued one citation, and conducted 13 traffic stops, one inmate transport between facilities and eight special patrols. Five people were booked into and 11 released from county jail, which held 127 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
