2:23 p.m.: A 38-year-old homeless man was arrested in the 300 block of Putman Street on a warrant for use of vision-reducing matter on windows. Officer Sean Hoffman was on patrol at the location and reportedly observed the man walking on the wrong side of the road. During a pedestrian stop, Hoffman checked the man through communications and an active warrant was confirmed, arrest reports read.

4:07 p.m.: A 22-year-old Sulphur Springs was arrested during a pedestrian stop in the 900 block of Jefferson Street on a warrant for theft of property $100 or more but less than $750. Officer Sean Hoffman was on patrol at the location and reportedly conducted a pedestrian stop. Hoffman checked the man through communications and an active warrant was confirmed, arrest reports read.

5:15 p.m.: Deputies assisted Precinct 2 Constable Bill Allan in serving both an eviction notice and an arrest warrant to a resident at a Helm Lane apartment complex. The 42-year-old woman was found to have an active warrant from Hopkins County for theft of service valued at $750 or more but less than $2,000, which reportedly occurred Feb. 21. Allan arranged for deputies to accompany him on the call due to reported threats made by the woman against apartment management staff. She was taken into custody without incident. Bond was set at $2,000 on the theft of service charge, jail and arrest reports read.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 366 non-emergency phone calls, 72 calls for service and 34 emergency calls. For the 48-hour period from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday, officers issued five citations, filed one offense and conducted seven inmate transports between facilities, two funeral escorts, two special patrol and 32 traffic stops. Twenty-six people were booked into and 18 released from county jail, which held 174 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
