Motorist assist leads to allegedly stolen vehicle

Jane Louise Broglin, 21, of Fort Worth was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Thursday when Sergeant Greer of the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible stranded motorist and traffic hazard in the 7600 block of the Interstate 30 eastbound service road at mile marker 114 in Brashear.

When he arrived on scene, Greer located a tan Nissan Altima that appeared to be between the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 and the eastbound service road. The front of the vehicle was partially in the westbound lane of traffic on the service road. Broglin was inside the vehicle and reportedly stated she was traveling from Fort Worth and ran out of gas.

When Sgt. Greer ran the vehicle’s license plate, he received a hit stating the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Mesquite PD. Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was stolen.
