Smith tabbed as UA athlete of the week

COMMERCE — Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball libero Jade Smith is this week's Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week.

Smith (Houston – Mayde Creek) earned all-tournament honors at the UTSA Invitational. She totaled 33 digs in the three matches, including 14 against Missouri State and 11 in the win over Texas Southern.

The Lions went 1-2 in San Antonio and are right back on the court with four matches scheduled this week.

A&M-Commerce played Abilene Christian Tuesday and then goes to Lubbock for the Red Raider Classic against Wyoming (11 a.m.) and Louisiana (4:30 p.m.) on Friday and Texas Tech at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Under Armour Student- Athlete of the Week is awarded by Lion Athletics each week during the academic year.
