Hello, all. As you may have recognized, I have been MIA lately. I would never purposely do this, but it has been finals week and I’ve spent the last week on the road in various parts of Louisiana. I missed writing during this time simply because I felt like y’all missed out on so much. Keeping secrets from y’all isn’t my forté.

Life update 1: I PASSED ALL OF MY CLASSES WITH ALL As (minus my really high B in Chemistry). As you may remember, chemistry was my biggest foe this quarter. I really felt like there was no escaping the purgatory of my chemistry homework. I survived though and ended the class with one of the best grades in the class; too bad the teacher doesn’t curve more. I would’ve probably done really well with a little curve. It must make some people sick to pass out a little extra credit.

Life update 2: I THREW MY FIRST COLLEGIATE WIN AGAINST A PRETTY GOOD TEAM! Yay! I love softball so much, but sometimes, it is the most toxic kind of love. I love it endlessly, but it feels one sided occasionally.

Life update 3: I WENT TO SOUTH LOUISIANA. I can honestly say it kind of smells, but the food was amazing. Lake Charles provided a few very good meals and, if you’re in the area, I highly recommend Nina P's. It was so, so good. I also went to Baton Rouge for the first time! I wanted to meet Mike the Tiger on the LSU campus, but didn’t get to. I think if I went to LSU that the tiger would consume my mind. I’d want to visit him all the time.

Life update 4: I really miss my family. BAD. The worst part about college softball is not having people to talk to after the game. You have to walk through the parents of the other players and say hi and stuff to their families, but it’s not the same. I love all of my friends' families and, honestly, they treat me like one of their own. But, sometimes, I want a hug from my own parents, to see my own sister, and to be able to talk to my grandparents. It’s just kind of hard, but as time passes it gets a little easier. I wish they could just teleport to me and back to Texas.

Thanks for reading, friends. I promise to never leave you all again this long. I can’t even tell you how long it’s been since I’ve written. My grandma has been on my case a couple of times for it. I’m going to do better, but finals took me by surprise. Love ya, bye!
