Bianca Juarez was named Elementary Student of the Month. She is described as 'a wonderful student who strives to learn,” and 'who treats others with kindness [and] helps her teachers and always does the right thing,” Como-Pickton Elementary Principal Austin Baxley said. 'Her work, essays, attitudes and compassion make her an easy choice for student of the month.

Keelie Williams was chosen as Junior High Student of the Month. She is described by her principal, Buck Haynes, as 'the most polite, mannerly and kind, hard working student. She is a great friend and loves to be a great student.'

Note: Buck Haynes, Como-Pickton Junior High School Principal, was unable to attend, so High School Principal Kelly Baird presented Williams with her award.

Senior Ian Rogers was named High School Student of the Month. According to high school principal Kelly Baird, Rogers is “a guy you like to have close to you if things go wrong. He wants to help out and do things. He's a great young man, and we're proud to have him here representing us,” Baird said. Rogers plans to attend Northeast Texas Community College and work with the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program.

Eighth grade math teacher Jessica Pegues was named Como-Pickton CISD's April Teacher of the Month. 'Mrs. Pegues is doing a great job in the classroom,' Buck Haynes, Como-Pickton Junior High School Principal, said in a statement. 'She's willing to stay after school for tutorials for her students and willing to do whatever is needed by the kids. She makes the junior high a great place to work.'
