The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday and included:

Drug-related arrests

■ Duke Jones, 56, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested Thursday 12:18 a.m. on two charges of possession of a penalty group two controlled substance in an amount greater than four hundred grams. Hopkins County deputies were reportedly obtained a warrant for Jones’ residence on Wildcat Way. Upon conducting the search, the deputies allegedly located several packages of edible THC and mushroom inside the residence. Jones was reportedly taken into custody and transported to the jail without incidence. After returning to the Sheriff ’s office, the edibles were weighed and determined to have a total weight of 1,024 gram, the mushrooms were determined to have a weight of nine grams. Bond was set at $50,000.

■ Candace Gordon, 30, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested on a charge of possession of a penalty group one controlled substance in an amount less than one gram. Gordon was reportedly stopped by Hopkins county deputies for a traffic violation of expired registration. During the investigation, Gordon allegedly told officers that she was not sure of anything illegal being in her vehicle or on her person. Gordon reportedly pulled a piece of an item commonly used to smoke crack cocaine from her pants pocket. Deputies reportedly began to detain Gordon while she was attempting to remove more items from her pockets. Gordon allegedly admitted to having a piece of cocaine in her pocket. Deputies were able to remove the cocaine and after a brief struggle, placed Gordon into custody for the above charge. Gordon was transported to the jail without further incident. Bond was not set.

■ Doyle Roberson, 43, of Sulphur Springs was arrested Thursday 7:13 p.m. on a charge of possession of a penalty group one controlled substance in an amount less than one gram. Roberson was reportedly stopped by Hopkins county deputies on a traffic violation of traveling over the posted speed limit. Upon contact with Roberson, the deputies reportedly observed him to be nervous and deceptive. The deputies reportedly requested consent for a search of the vehicle and Roberson allegedly denied consent. An open air sniff of the vehicle was reportedly conducted by a narcotics detection K-9 unit. The K-9 unit allegedly alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was then conducted by the deputies who located suspected methamphetamines. Roberson was transported to the jail and booked in. Bond was not set.

Alcohol-related arrests

■ A Dallas woman, 34, was arrested Friday 12:44 a.m. on a charge of public intoxication. A Sulphur Springs officer reportedly located a vehicle stuck in the mud just off of the roadway at the intersection of Shannon Road and Bill Brad-ford Road. The woman was contacted near the vehicle. The officer could allegedly smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the woman’s breath. The woman reportedly had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet. The officer believed the woman to be a danger to herself or others and took her into custody. The woman was transported to the jail without incident. Bond was not set.

Warrants, transfers and other activity

■ Darrel Farris, 60, of Commerce was served with three warrants from Hopkins County on two charges of indecency with a child and a charge of tampering with a witness. Farris was reportedly already in custody at the Hopkins County jail when the officer served the warrants. Bond was set at $450,000.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 27, was arrested Wednesday 4:23 p.m. on a charge of criminal trespass. The man was arrested after a Sulphur Springs officer was reportedly dispatched to Walmart in reference to the man refusing to leave the store after being asked by employees. The officer made contact with the man in the rear parking lot of the store. The man was reportedly checked through dispatch and discovered to have the above charge on file. The man was placed into handcuffs and transported to the jail without incident. Bond was set at $1,000.

■ Eduardo Nunez-Hernandez, 28, of Pickton, was arrested Wednesday 11:00 a.m. on a Hopkins county warrant for bond forfeiture on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more offense. Nunez-Hernandez was reportedly taken into custody in District Court and transported to the jail without incident. Bond was set at $20,000.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 48, was arrested Thursday 3:44 p.m. on a Austin Parole Division warrant for a parole violation. Sulphur Springs police were reportedly given a possible location for the subject and made contact. Upon making contact, the man allegedly gave officers a false name. Officers checked the man’s information through dispatch and were reportedly advised of the warrant. The man was placed into custody and transported to the jail without incident. Bond was not set.

■ Daniel Flores, 37, of Cumby, was arrested Thursday 9:45 p.m. on two Hopkins County warrants for manufacture or delivery of a penalty group one controlled substance in an amount greater than 200 grams, and one warrant for manufacture or delivery of a penalty group substance in an amount greater than four grams. Flores was reportedly arrested after deputies observed a vehicle enter a residence and saw Flores exit the vehicle. Deputies were allegedly aware of the aforementioned warrants for Flores. Deputies approached Flores and placed him into custody. Flores was transported to the jail without incident. Bond was set at $90,000.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 921 non-emergency phone calls, 212 calls for service and 105 emergency calls. From 7 a.m. Tuesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday officers filed 11 offenses and conducted zero special patrols, two funeral escorts and 45 traffic stops. Ten people were booked in and 26 people were released from the Hopkins County Jail which held 173 inmates as of 5:30 a.m Friday.
