Editor's Note: This is part of an ongoing series to honor Hopkins County principals.

Principals at all schools work tirelessly and take on the roles asked of them such as coaching or teaching, and Sulphur Bluff ISD's Amy Daniel and Marshall Moore fit that example.

“SBISD has two of the best people around,” superintendent Carr said. “Extremely hard working, they care about our kids and would do anything for our staff, school and community. Amy and Marshall go above and beyond with their time and attention for the betterment of our district.”

Elementary principal Amy Daniel has worked in education for 28 years and has been at Sulphur Bluff for the last 18 of those years, and she received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University-Commerce. According to Daniel, “odding this can create an environment that is conducive to each one's academic progress.

Secondary principal Marshall Moore has been in education for 13 years and has worked at Sulphur Bluff for nine. He has been secondary principal for the last two years, and he also serves as the district's athletic director and head boys basketball coach. He received his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin University and his graduate degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

“Marshall continues to strive toward opening educational avenues for all of our students,” Carr said. “He has helped expand opportunities for dual credit, leading to advanced degrees and certifications for our kids.”

Carr added his team of principals “continued to amaze” during this uncertain time.

“They have problem-solved, filled in, cleaned after hours, provided instructional leadership, anything and everything,” Carr said. “Amy and Marshall have taken the initiative to make our school run seamlessly during a very difficult time. We couldn't be more appreciative of the job they are doing. It's great to have a cohesive team that works together for our school community.”
