Wildcats win on the road in double OT

ROYSE CITY — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats traveled to Royse City Tuesday for a district matchup.

It was a tight game that was still scoreless at the end of regulation. The Wildcats were able to get the win in double OT thanks to an unassisted goal from Omar Hernandez.

“It was a lone one,” Coach Alexi Upton said. “We love going into overtime, but a good trait is to win these games and not lose them. I’m proud of the kids for fighting.”

Sulphur Springs finishes the first half of district play with a 4-1 record. They are 10-5-5 on the season.

The JV team also go the win, defeating Royse City, 3-0, with goals from Joel Vasquez, Edgar Salazar and Aubrey Camacho.
