Lady Lions stay in top 5

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches have released their first update to the rankings, since releasing their preseason rankings a few weeks ago.

SALTILLO LADY LIONS

After a great season a year ago, the Saltillo Lady Lions are poised to have another great campaign, coming in at No. 5 in this week’s rankings. The Lady Lions won their season opener against McLeod on Nov. 6 with ease, winning the game 51-29.

SALTILLO LIONS

The Saltillo boys team is set to have an team is set to have another great season as well, also coming in the top 10 of this week’s rankings, sitting at No. 9. The Lions opened their season with a tough 75-59 loss to Martins Mill before bouncing back with a 20-point win over Longview Christian. Saltillo will hope to keep the momentum rolling with their road game against Rivercrest Saturday. That game is set to begin at 3 p.m.

MILLER GROVE HORNETS

The Miller Grove Hornets found themselves in the TABC preseason rankings, but have fallen out despite playing just one game this far. The Hornets lost their season opener to Sam Rayburn, but will have plenty of time to earn their spot back in the top 25.
