Will help athletes develop skills
With summer now in swing, Sulphur Springs ISD will be hosting sports camps to help develop future athletes. There will be a wide range of camps with different sports.
VOLLEYBALL
From June 5 to 7, a volleyball camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs Middle School gym. There will be two sessions: session one is for incoming first through fifth grade students from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and session two is for incoming sixth through ninth graders from 10 to 12 p.m.
The fee is $50. Checks need to be made payable to Bailey Dorner.
SOFTBALL
From June 5 to 7, a softball camp will be held at the multipurpose building. There will be two sessions: session one is for incoming first through fifth grade students from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and session two is for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
The fee is $50. Checks need to be made payable to David Carrillo. Equipment needed includes water, cleats, bat, athletic shoes, glove, helmet, and catcher’s gear if one is a catcher.
BASEBALL
From June 6 to 8, a baseball camp will be held at the multipurpose building. There will be two sessions: session one is for incoming first through third grade students from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and session two is for incoming fourth through ninth grade students from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
The fee is $50. Checks need to be made payable to Jerrod Hammack. Equipment needs include helmet, bat, gloves, catcher’s gear, and cleats.
SOCCER
From June 26 to 28, a soccer camp will be held at the multipurpose building. The camp is open to all incoming kindergarten through ninth grade students.
The pre-registration deadline is June 21. One can register on the first day of camp, but will run the risk of not receiving a t-shirt. The fee is $50.
Checks need to be made payable to either Adriana Brena or Alexi Upton. Equipment needs include water, cleats, athletic shoes, and a soccer ball.
BOYS BASKETBALL
From July 10 to 12, a boys basketball camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs High School gym. There will be three sessions: session one is for incoming kindergarten to third grade students from 12 to 1:30 p.m., session two is for incoming fourth through sixth grade students from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and session three is for incoming seventh through ninth grade students from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The pre-registration deadline is July 5. One can register on the first day of camp, but will run the risk of not receiving a t-shirt. The fee is $50.
Equipment needs include athletic shoes and gym clothes.
