Schaack leads scoring charge
The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats continued their winning ways this season with a 46-20 victory over the Quitman Lady Bulldogs Dec. 19. Throughout the game, the Lady Wildcats played hard and tough, never letting their guard down and rolling to a win.
The first quarter was controlled by the Lady Wildcats, as they Lady Bulldogs struggled out of the gate. The Lady Wildcats led 18-4 at the end of quarter.
The second quarter was once again dominated by the Lady Wildcats, as the Lady Bulldogs couldn’t find any rhythm. The Lady Wildcats shutout the Lady Bulldogs 10-0 in the second quarter, increasing their lead to 28-4 going into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Lady Wildcats kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter, continuing their strong gameplay. The Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Bulldogs 16-5 in the third quarter, building their massive lead to 44-9. The fourth quarter saw the Lady Bulldogs score more points, but the game was already decided by then. Despite being outscored 11-2 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Wildcats polished off a 46-20 victory.
Cami Schaack led the way with 18 points. Codee Roland was second in points with 13. Rounding out the scoring was Trinity Jefferson with six, Rainey Johnson with four, Kyra Carter with three, and Aaliyah Cheatum with two.
With the win, the Lady Wildcats are now 18-7 on the season. They will be back in action Jan. 3, when they welcome the Palestine Lady Wildcats to Wildcat Gym.
