MILLER GROVE- The Miller Grove Lady Hornets hosted North Hopkins Tuesday for their fifth district match of the season. With a district record of 2-2 the Lady Hornets were looking to put themselves back over the .500 mark.

Later in the set it was Lainy Burnett who fueled the Lady Hornets offense, getting a pair of kills to help extend their lead even more. Miller Grove continued to dominate in the opening set, taking it by a score of 25-11.

The second set saw more of the same, as the Lady Hornets took their game to another level. After building an 11-2 lead, North Hopkins used a timeout to try to slow down Miller Grove’s momentum. While they were able to cut the deficit down a bit, the Lady Hornets never lost their pace, taking the second set 25-13.

The third set was by far the closest of the game, as Miller Grove was never able to pull away. Burnett scored on a pair of kills early, but North Hopkins kept things close.

Later in the set the Lady Hornets were able to pull away a bit, building an 18-10 lead, but North Hopkins would quickly wipe that deficit out.

North Hopkins went on a very strong run, cutting the Miller Grove lead to 22-20. The Lady Hornets used a timeout to regroup and ultimately pulled out the 25-23 win, completing their straight set win.
