Miller Grove | Girls Basketball 

ECTOR — The Miller Grove Lady Hornets won a close game in Ector Tuesday night, 34-30. This win helped the Hornets tie the season series, after losing their first matchup at home, 24-16, Jan. 10.

The game started off with neither team able to find their offense, with just a combined 6 points scored in the first quarter. The Lady Hornets led, however, 4-2. Ector turned their offense on in the second quarter, outscoring Miller Grove, 9-4, in the frame to take an 11-8 lead at the half.

The Lady Hornets opened the second half with a 10-point quarter while allowing Ector to score only 6 points. Miller Grove took a 1-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Both teams had their highest scoring quarter of the game in the fourth. The Lady Hornets outscored Ector, 16-13, and walked away with the 34-30 win.

Harli Watson had an impressive 23 points to lead the way for Miller Grove. Other scorers were Lainy Burnett, 4, Lauren Bullard, 4, and Summer Coker, 3.
