Romero leads with 11 digs
YANTIS-The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles traveled to Yantis Tuesday for a district match. Como-Pickton was looking to get back into the win column after a 3-0 loss to Miller Grove.
The Lady Eagles had very little trouble against Yantis, winning in straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25- 11 and 25-11. The junior varsity won big as well, winning by scores of 25-6 and 25-9.
Leading the way for the varsity was Lexi Busby who finished with 11 kills. Behind her was Mattison Buster who had six kills.
The leading servers in the game with Chloe Romero and Chelsey Osborn who had four serving aces each. Romero also led the team defensively, racking up 11 digs in the 3-0 win.
The Lady Eagles leading passer was Dori Sales who ended up with nine assists.
This win makes Como-Pickton 2-1 in district play, their other district win coming against PTAA Tuesday, Sept. 15. The Lady Eagles won that one in straight sets as well.
