Lady Cats post big win, host Wylie East Tuesday

The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats varsity volleyball team won 3-0 at Pleasant Grove Friday, Sept. 13 in non-district action.

The Lady Cats won by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-21. Sadie Washburn led the way with 11 kills. Aliyah Abron had three blocks.

The junior varsity Lady Cats were victorious by scores of 25-18 and 25-21; the Sulphur Springs freshmen won 18-25, 25-21 and 25-13.

The varsity squad is now 17-9 for the season.

“We’ve had some players out with injuries. So, we had people in different positions, and they played well. We always have room for improvement. I feel good about out district, but we still have two weeks to improve overall,” said Bailey Dorner, Lady Cats head volleyball coach.

The Lady Cats open district play hosting Royse City, Sept. 27.

The Lady Cats hosts Wylie East Tuesday, Sept. 17. The junior varsity and freshmen start play at 4:30 p.m. the varsity will follow at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Cats will be idle Friday, Sept. 20 due to homecoming. Sulphur Springs will play their final non-district game Sept. 24 at Community.
