SULPHUR BLUFF — The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears got a huge 67-12 victory over Bloomburg Tuesday night at home.

The Lady Bears opened the game with a strong first quarter both offensively and defensively, posting a 19-point quarter while holding Bloom-burg to just 4 points. The second quarter saw much of the same, and Sulphur Bluff went into the half leading 34-9.

The Lady Bears continued their momentum in the second half, outscoring Bloomburg 16-3 in the third quarter, and shutting them out in the fourth quarter while adding another 17 points to give them the 67-12 win.

Skylar Stanley led the way for Sulphur Bluff with 21 points, 12 rebounds, six steals and an assist. Bailey Neal also finished in double digits with 11 points.

Other scorers for the Lady Bears were Dalena di Donato, who had 9 points, and Angel Brown, who stuffed the stat sheet with 7 points, seven rebounds, six steals and a pair of assists. Jada Wade had a very well-rounded game, finishing with 6 points, seven rebounds, four assists.

“Jada White had a big game defensively. She was able to stop their key player from scoring any field goals,” Coach Zandra Peyton said.

Alley Collett and Molly Kelly each finished with 5 points, and Tori Raine had 3 points, five steals and five rebounds.

“The girls all stepped up and had a great game both defensively and offensively,” Peyton added.

The Lady Bears will play again Tuesday Jan. 21 in Saltillo with the JV Girl starting at 4:30 p.m. and the JV Boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys to follow.
