SAVOY- The No. 21 ranked Miller Grove Hornets traveled to Savoy Tuesday looking to pick up a win and help secure their playoff position.

The Hornets got out to a very strong start from the very beginning, thanks in large part to a huge first quarter from Tanner Hensley. Hensley had nine points in the opening frame alone, helping Miller Grove build a double-digit lead in the first quarter.

Entering the second quarter with a 22-12 lead, the Hornets kept the strong play going in to the second quarter, once again outscoring Savoy by double-digits in the frame. Hensley led the team with another six points, with Jacob George right behind him, providing five points in the quarter. The two teams went to the locker rooms with Miller Grove leading 38-18 at the end of the first half.

The third quarter was more of the same, with the Hornets offense scoring in bunches and their defense holding Savoy to single digits in the frame. Hensley once again paced the way, scoring eight points in the frame. Lexton Sly, Isaiah Billingsley and Kobe Robertson each knocked down a 3-pointer in the quarter to hep give Miller Grove a 58-25 lead at the end of the third quarter.

The Hornets added another 12 points in the fourth quarter, nine of which came from Hensley. Savoy, meanwhile, scored seven points in the final frame, and Miller Grove walked away with the 70-32 win.

Hensley was the leading scorer for the Hornets, finishing with an impressive 32 points. Hensley distributed his scoring evenly, never posting less than six points in a singe frame.

Also finishing in double-digits was George who ended with 10 points. Other scorers for the Hornets were Robertson who ended with seven points, Sly who had six points, Billingsley with five points, Landon Burnett and Riley Hasten who each had three points and Matt Brignon who ended with two points.
