Gaines finishes 1st in four events
The seventh and eighth grade Lady Cats track team both finished in third place as a team in their home meet Monday.
SEVENTH GRADE
Lexi Gaines finished in first places in triple jump, high jump, 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Codee Roland also finished first place in long jump. Shalyn Gotcher finished second place in shot put, and Madeleine Poskey finished third in the 2,400-meter.
The team of Damia Dugan, Roland, Gaines and Emerson Thompson finished second place in the 4x100 relay, and the team of Roland, Kyra Carter, Valerie Flecer and Aaliyah Cheatum finished second place in the 4x400 relay.
EIGHTH GRADE
Haylee Shultz finished first place in the 2,400- and 1,600-meter runs. Kinslei Smallwood finished first place in the 100-meter hurdles and second place in the 300-meter hurdles. She also finished third place in long jump. Jaci Haire finished second place in discus.
The team of Mary Taylor, Lorelai Lilley, Kylie Clark and Gracie Johnson finished third place in the 4x400 relay.
