Funeral services for Ruby Moye Placker, 84, of Huntsville, Texas, were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church in Riverside, Texas with Rev. Jim Newton officiating. Interment followed in the Bluff Creek Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation was held 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 before the service began at Riverside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Placker was born Sept. 18, 1935 in Winnsboro, Texas to parents Raymond Jones Mc- Leroy and Ruby Montine (Johnson) McLeroy and passed away Jan. 21, 2020 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was a loving mother and grandmother and best known as Mother, Granny and GG. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church for 34 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, M.W. “Pat” Placker; and brother, James D. McLeroy.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-inlaw, Kathryn and Rick Smith, and Karen and Fred House; grandsons and wives, Kevan and Samantha Smith, Chris and Tori House, Shaun and Cassy House, and Barry and Sheila Weltz; granddaughters, Tracy Weltz and Rachel Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Ledbetter of Sulphur Springs; and sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Andrew Schroeder of Brenham, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
