Funeral services for Pansy Murray, 97, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery with Josh Murray, Judd Murray, Jason Murray, Tony Murray, Roger Murray, Erik Murray and Todd Cook serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m., prior to service time.

Pansy passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at Carriage House Manor.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1921 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Martin and Effie Stephenson Jones. She was a member of the Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked as a nurse for Dr. William Ray Hanna and Dr. Mike Locklear from 1942 to 1991. She loved to quilt, quilting more than 300 over many years.

She is survived by sons Roger Murray and wife Silvia of Harker Heights, Texas, and Tony Murray and wife Jennifer of Sulphur Springs; daughters Nina Cook and husband Jerry of Sulphur Springs and Paula Doss of Sulphur Springs; brother William Gene Jones of Kempner, Texas; sister Roberta Sue New-some of Sulphur Springs; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Ray Murray; son, William Jack Murray; granddaughter, Amy Maureen Murray; grandson, Ricky Don Murray; two brothers; and four sisters.
