A funeral mass of Christian burial for Jose Guadalupe “Lupe” Contreras, 46, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Sardinas officiating. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
Lupe passed away Sept. 5, 2019 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 24, 1973 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Ricardo Contreras and Maria Lourdes Contreras. He worked in construction for Superior Building and Renovation.
He is survived by his parents; sons, Martin and Demazio Contreras; daughters, Elizabeth Koener and husband Daniel, Samantha Thomas and husband Ethan, and Janet Contreras and husband Jordan Hall; mother of his children, Janet Weeks; brothers, Juan Contreras and wife Wanda, Frank Contreras and wife Carmen, Antonio Contreras and wife Veronica, Luz Contreras and wife Sibilia, and Ricardo Contreras and wife Tammy; sisters, Lourdes Contreras, and Socorro Contreras and husband Joe Perez; and grandchildren, E’Leyna Koerner, Ella Koerner, Paisley Thomas, Christopher Liam Hall, Haddix Wilburn Contreras and Amilia Contreras.
