Douglas Harold Armstrong

Douglas Harold Armstrong, 88, of Celeste, passed away on July 11, 2022, in Plano.

A memorial service was held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Celeste with Rev. Jim Sherwin and grandson, Alan Armstrong officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Armstrong was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Celeste, Texas to Alger Harold Armstrong and Bertha Madolyn Turner.

He married Frances McMichael on July 24, 1953, in Celeste, Texas.

He worked in Security for Temco, LTV, E-Systems and Raytheon. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Celeste.

He is survived by his sons, Steve Armstrong and wife, Renee, Mike Armstrong and wife, Suetta, and Kelly Armstrong and fiancé, Maureen; sisters, Kay Nichols and Janie King; grandchildren, Brad Armstrong and Stacy Burns, Wes and Wendi Armstrong, Toby and Erica Armstrong, Alan and Candice Armstrong, Carrie and Brad Hammons, Rebekah Armstrong, Rachel Armstrong, Anna Armstrong, and Audrey and Eric Chance; sisters-in-law, Lynn McMichael and Sue Ellen McMichael, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Armstrong, his parents, and brother, Don Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Celeste or Texas Baptist Men.
