Bobbie (Huff) Quinn Thuma has ended her long goodbye journey with Alzheimer disease at age 94 and entered eternal life with her Savior and Lord, Jesus. She will see her mother again, who died when Bobbie was just three years of age, and all the others who have gone on before her. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Daniel E. Thuma; two children, Larry Quinn and wife Beverly of Longview, Texas, and Elaine Quinn White of Sour Lake, Texas; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was born on Oct. 23, 1929, in Commerce, Texas, to James Clifton Huff and Buena Mae Covington. Others who have predeceased her include her two sisters, Peggy Joyce (Huff) Nicholson and Loudene (Huff) Middleton; and her first husband, Francis Nuel Quinn, whom she married on April 14, 1949, and the father of her two children, Larry and Elaine. After Nuel’s death in 1977, she married again to Richard Nealy Jones, who died in 1984, leaving her a widow once more, before marrying Daniel E. Thuma in 1987.

Bobbie lived her early years in Hopkins County, Texas, graduating from Miller Grove High School at age 16, then moving to Longview, Texas, to study and graduate from cosmetology school She owned and operated Bobbie’s Beauty Shop for many years before retiring.

She was a dedicated member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed many years of fellowship with her Sunday School Class and the Church body. Throughout her life she exhibited her spiritual gift of serving others. She never tired of doing for others. It brought her great satisfaction and fulfillment as she tirelessly worked to meet others’ needs.

There are many to thank for her care and support during the later years of her life including Dan, her husband, the staff at Buckner Westminster Place and the angels Cindy, Tracy and Stacy with Hospice Plus who attended to her needs as well.

Celebration of life will be at noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, held at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Road, Longview, Texas. Longview, Texas. Visitation will be immediately preceding services and will begin at 11 a.m., also at Rader Funeral Home.
