Andrew Jackson Clark, 93, passed away on May 26, 2022 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Andrew, born August 3, 1928 in Mena Arkansas was the son of John Henry Clark and Annie Mae Chote both of whom are deceased. Andrew Retired in 1977 as Chief Communications Officer for The Alaska Railroad, where he worked for 29 years, after leaving the Army Air Corps.

As Sargent in the Army Air Corps’ 10th Air Sea Rescue, stationed at Elmendorf AFB, he was a radio operator for B-17 and OA-10 rescue aircraft. Among his many life accomplishments, he became Master of Masonic Lodge 17 in 1958. As avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed many activities with his family: gardening, camping, amateur radio, hunting, fishing, private pilot, and teaching his sons skills used to this day.

Andrew was preceded in death by: brothers Leander Clark and L. D. Clark; sister Carrie Mae Taylor; and his wife Elizabeth L. Clark. His two sons Andrew Bryan Clark, in North Carolina, and Eric Westling Clark in Alaska, as well as his sister Hester Ann Broadway in Arkansas, survive him. Stepchildren Larry Clark and Sherry Moody of Texas, and Jimmy Clark of North Carolina, also survive him. Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson survive Andrew.

Andrew often said, “I have had a good life, one that not many could even dream of ”. Yes, Dad, Papa-J, KL7AHB, AC5AT, Uncle Hobo, Andy, Mr. Clark, or the “City Slicker from Booth Street”, traveled far, lived life on his terms, made many friends, and lived a full life.

A graveside service will be held at Willow Wild Cemetery, 1220 W. Seventh Street, Bonham, Texas on July 28th at 10 a.m.
