United Way meets goal, donations are still coming in to benefit 17 agencies

Hopkins County United Way 2023-2024 Campaign Chairs Jessica McInnis and KK McKenzie Thursday morning announced that the community has once again come together to meet the fundraising goal.

With pledges from several large industries and schools still being counted, the total amount of contributions made to HCUW as of the final weekly campaign workers report meeting was more than $154,00, which is $4,000 over this year's goal.

HCUW Executive Secretary Susan Berning noted that 'Como-Pickton CISD went above and beyond' in their donation, and 'Sulphur Bluff ISD turned in the highest county school contribution HCUW has ever received.' Holt Industries matched employee donations. North Hopkins and Sulphur Springs ISDs, the Civic Center staff, Alliance Bank, Money Law, Clarion Pointe, the Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation staff, Sulphur Springs Livestock and Hopkins County Hospital District EMS and Communications also were reorted to have contributed to the campaign this week.

TheHCUW officers offered thanks to all contributors for their generosity to this year's campaign.
