SSISD set dates; approves changes

The Sulphur Springs Board of Trustees heard several reports during their recent meeting. Veronica Allen, Director of Child Nutrition presented new prices for lunches. The faculty/adult visitor price for much will be $3 for breakfast and $4.50 for lunch. Jeremy Lopez, Asst. Superintendent, reported on Back-to-School dates and activities. Meet the Teacher dates have been set for all Sulphur Springs ISD campuses.

Aug. 15 - 4-6 p.m., Douglass ECLC; 5-6:30 p.m. Sulphur Springs Middle School.

Aug. 16 - 5-6:30 p.m., Sulphur Springs High School; Meet the Wildcats is set for 7-8 p.m. Aug. 16 at Prim Stadium.

• Aug. 15: 8 -11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m., All Student Laptop Pick up at Library

• Aug. 16: 8:30-11:30 a.m. , Fish Camp for Freshmen and New Students at Cafeteria for campus tours

• Aug. 16: 8 -11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m., All Student Laptop Pick up at Library. Fish camp for students entering SSHS for the first time, Aug.16, 2022, High School Cafeteria, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Jason Evans presented information about the ESSA (Title I, Title II, Title III, Tile IV) applications. No action was required.

Elementary, Middle School, High School handbook changes for 2022-23 were presented by Jeremy Lopez, Justin Cowart, and Josh Williams. The board took action on several item. The SSISD school lunch charge policy was approved along with the teacher appraisers and appraisal calendar for 2022-2023 and the SSISD Student Code of Conduct for the 2022-2023 school year. In executive session the Sulphur Springs Board of Trustees adopted these personnel changes: Resignations were accepted Timothy Aguillon, SSHS teacher/coach; Brittany Aguliar, Douglas ECLC head start aide; John Bimmerle, administrative Inst. Tech Director; Steve Johnson, SPED aide at SSES; Kerry Roy, Middle School aide; Meredith Rule, SSHS aide; Dana Self, MS Campus police; Amanda Walker, Travis Primary Title I aide; and Cindy Welch, Fine Arts Coordinator, SSHS.

New personnel include: Randall Wellman, SSMS Assistant Principal; Kayleigh Caudle, Doug ECLC Pre-Kindergarten; Kimber Combs, Johnson Primary, Title I Aide; Amie Cunningham, Bush Primary SPED teacher; Yasmin Espinoza, Douglas SPED teacher; Itzel Figueroa, Travis Primary Counselor; Sandra Foshee, SSMS Receptionist; Lori Franklin, SSHS Social Studies; Luciana Gallo, SSMS SPED Aide; Kylie Koon, Admin.
