Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement and fire department activity from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday included:

POLICE

Thursday

2:44 a.m.: A 28-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested in the 100 block of Lee Street on two warrants for public intoxication. Officers were on patrol at the location and reportedly observed the man riding a bicycle on a public roadway without a headlight. A records check showed the man had two confirmed warrants, and he was taken into custody. He was released from jail Thursday, according to arrest and jail reports.

Wednesday

12:09 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance or family violence at a residence on FM 269 south in Pickton. A woman reported three kids came over, saying their dad was trying to shoot their mom. A K-9 was called to the scene at 12:40 a.m.

2:15 p.m.: De Anthony Rayon Moore, 19, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at the Hopkins County Courthouse per a judge’s order revoking bond on a charge of manufacture or delivery of 1-4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance in a drug-free zone. Bond was set at $100,000, and Moore remained in custody as of press time Friday, according to arrest and jail reports.

7:55 p.m.: A 26-year-old Winnsboro man was arrested during a traffic stop on State Highway 11 east on warrants for speeding more than 10% above posted limit and driving while license invalid. The man was reportedly stopped for no license plate lights and was found to have warrants. He was released from jail Thursday, according to arrest and jail reports.

9:25 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on County Road 2474 in Pickton. A man reported his son was beating on the outside of the house.

9:53 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a missing person on FM 269 south in Pickton. A woman reported her son stormed off and ran away from the house barefoot.

Thursday

1:22 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of criminal trespass at a residence on County Road 1100. A woman requested that a criminal trespass warning be issued.

1:58 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft at a residence on County Road 3518. A male caller reported someone broke into the residence.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 439 non-emergency phone calls, 89 calls for service and 56 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday, officers issued one citation, filed two offenses and conducted two inmate transports between facilities, two special patrols and 33 traffic stops. Fourteen people were booked into and nine released from county jail, which held 136 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
