The Sulphur Bluff Masonic Lodge No. 246 was presented at the Sulphur Bluff Academic Awards program and gave out scholarships.
The lodge gave five $1,000 scholarships to Dewitt Brookins, Hannah Byrd, Cassidi Froneberger, Bailey Neal and Skylar Stanley. The lodge also presented to Kristi Russell the Lamar Awards for excellence which is given to a staff member who does above the line of duty for personal achievement.
They gave awards to junior class members, Kennedi Lambert and Bradley Pendleton the honest and integrity award.
It was noted the Grand Lodge of Texas and the Texas Masonic Lodges in Texas together contributed a total of $2.4 million dollars in scholarships to the public school system this year.
