Independent living services assistance available for qualified visually disabled

Crockett Resource Center for Independent Living’s Independent Living Services Program helps people with disabilities achieve greater independence in the home and community.

Eligibility criteria for this program requires the applicant to have a significant disability diagnosed by a licensed practitioner and to reside in Texas.

Individuals under the age of 55 with a vision disability who need services to maintain their independent living could be eligible for vision aids, video magnification devices, non-prescription optical devices, independent living skills training, orientation and mobility training and computer equipment.

The program's service area includes Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Brazos, Burleson, Camp, Cass, Cherokee Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Grimes, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Leon, Madison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Polk, Raines, Red River, Robertson, Rusk, Sabine, San Anugustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Tyler, Upshur, Van Zandt, Walker, Washington and Wood counties.
