Boy Scout Troop 69 celebrates 100th anniversary

(Below) Troop 69 Sr. Patrol Leader Cameron Brown led the Pack and Troop in the Pledge of Allegiance and Scout’s Oath. In celebration of the 100th anniversary, Brown invited the congregation to a baked potato luncheon prepared and served by scouts in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

Annually, on Scout Sunday, someone who has led in loyalty and support of scouting principles is selected to receive the H.W. Tapp Award. Troop leader William Howard McDowell presents the 2024 award to Dr. Robert Parker for his continued dedication to Sulphur Springs Troop 69.

First United Methodist Church Pastor McNabb stands with Cameron Brown, Sulphur Springs Troop 69 senior patrol leader. Both are Eagle Scouts. In his youth, McNabb was also a senior patrol leader for his troop in Dallas.
