Board names election judges; approves personnel changes

The Sulphur Springs School Board met Monday with several items on the agenda.

Named election judges for the May 6 election were Melea Janie McMackin; alternates are Vicki Franzer and Michael Wolfe.

Jenny Arledge, CTE Director and Director of College and Career Readiness was on the list of retirements. Arledge has been with Sulphur Springs ISD for 20 years, a total of 29 years in the education field.

Early retirement notices include: from SSHS; Carla Baxley, English Teacher; Carol Cowley, Counselor; Mindy Meador, Librarian; at SSMS, Angie McCrary, Read 180 Teacher; Lidia Mejia, DLE Kindergarten Teacher at Travis; Peggy Miller, Food Service.

Resignations include: Jennifer Farrar Walters, Math and Science, SSES; Lauren Price, Reading/ Teacher, SSES; Nancy Rodgers, Resource Teacher, SSMS; Yesenia Mata, Special Education Aide, Barbara Bush Primary; Cinthia Sales, Special Education Aide, Barbara Bush Primary; Bailey Early, Aide, Douglass; Laura Geeslin and Bryan Giguere changed positions within the district.

The new school calendar was adopted which is listed on the school website.
