Spirit Week

CUMBY — Four seniors have been named candidates for Cumby High School’s 2019 Homecoming king and queen. The following are profiles for each:

Carly Talley is the 17-year-old daughter of Katy and Cody Talley. Talley plays basketball, softball and is in cheerleading, FFA, Beta and FCA. After high school she plans to attend Tarleton State and pursue a degree in agricultural business.

Abby Baxter is the 17-year-old daughter of Brenda and Jeff Baxter. She is in cheerleading, Beta, FFA and FCA. After high school she plans to pursue an undergraduate and graduate degree in biology and ultimately hopes to achieve a PhD in zoology from Texas A&M at College Station.

Elijah Pachcheka is the 18-year-old son of Mike and Kat Rave. He is captain of the football team, president of student council, runs track and is in FCA. After high school he plans on attending college, getting a business degree, becoming a rapper and “making big bank.”

Max Wippler is the 18-year-old son of Shawnna Wippler and Steve Olker. He is active in football, basketball, baseball and track as well as FCA. After high school he would like to study sports medicine in college as well as play football.

Grade-level representatives for homecoming are:

• 11th grade: Lucero Osornio and Darren Brewer

• 10th grade: Savannah Kuran and Justin Demidio

• Ninth grade: Ashlyn Hudson and Jackson Evans

Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at 7 p.m. on Friday night during Cumby’s homecoming game before kickoff against Honey Grove.
