WYLIE — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats got back to work this past weekend by partaking in the Wylie East Tournament. Unfortunately, the Wildcats would not experience the success they would’ve liked, as they lost all three games they played.

As a team, the Wildcats batted just 1 for 21 (.048) from the plate. Brady Driver recorded the Wildcats’ only hit.

In their second game, the Wildcats played the McKinney North Bulldogs. The Wildcats would suffer a 10-0 shutout loss in that game.

As a team, the Wildcats batted only 2 for 13 (.154) from the plate. Lane Fouse and Braxton Wall recorded one hit each.

Wall suffered the loss on the mound. Across 2 2/3 innings, he allowed 10 runs (five earned), six hits, and six walks, managing two strikeouts. Barclay pitched the final 1/3 of an inning, recording a strikeout.

For their third and final game, the Wildcats took on the Lake Highlands Wildcats. Lake Highlands would hand Sulphur Springs another loss, defeating them 12-6.

As a team, Sulphur Springs batted 3 for 20 (.150) from the plate. Corbin Argenbright, Driver, and Ty Robinson all recorded one hit each.

Driver, Fouse, Alexi Macias, Kaden Mitchell, Robinson, and Wall all scored one run each.

Robinson suffered the loss on the mound. Across 1 1/3 innings, he gave up eight runs (four earned), four hits, and four walks, notching one strikeout.

Barclay pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief, allowing four runs, three hits, and two walks, managing two strikeouts. Ty Holt pitched the final inning, striking out one batter and waking one.

With these losses, the Wildcats dropped to 1-7 on the season. They resumed action Thursday, competing in the Mount Pleasant Tournament.
